Why book with us instead of a delivery service

A delivery company hands you an umbrella. We hand you a spot on the beach that is already set up, anchored and yours for the day.

Aruba Umbrella: already standing at the spot

Nothing is delivered and there is nothing to set up. You walk onto the beach and sit down.

  • Your umbrella and two reclining chairs are set up at the spot under your name from 10:00 AM. Nothing to carry, nothing to plant.
  • It stays yours until 4:00 PM. Swim, go for lunch, come back, it is still there.
  • Anchored and built for Aruba’s strong trade winds, so it stays exactly where we put it.
  • Eagle Beach or Palm Beach, and you keep the same spot for every day you book.
  • $100 per day + 20% tax and fees, so $120.00 a day, no delivery charge. Book 24 hours ahead and it is confirmed the moment you pay.
⚠ Delivery services: the risky way
A hand-planted beach umbrella ripped out of the sand and flying down the beach in the Aruba windIllustration: two beachgoers fighting to hold a hand-planted umbrella as the Aruba wind rips it out of the sand

Planted it yourself? In Aruba’s trade winds, this is how a lot of beach afternoons end.

What you actually get

Cheaper on paper. Everything else is on you.

  • A bare umbrella dropped at your hotel. Hauling it across the road and down the sand in the midday heat is on you, and so is hauling it back.
  • No spot is saved for you. Every morning you walk the beach looking for a gap, then dig the pole into the sand by hand.
  • Aruba’s trade wind blows hard most afternoons. A hand-planted umbrella lifts out and cartwheels down the beach: a pole and a spinning canopy heading for kids, sunbathers and your own head.
  • Your afternoon becomes holding it down, chasing it and re-planting it, instead of lying under it.
  • Leave for lunch and you are gambling: nothing is reserved, nothing is anchored, and nobody is there to keep your spot.
  • When the wind wins, there is no crew on the beach to fix it. You pack it up, and the day is over.
  • If a flying umbrella injures someone, you planted it, so it is on you, not on the company that dropped it at your hotel. An injury costs far more than the few dollars a day you saved.

Why we do it this way. Aruba is windy, every day. A lightweight umbrella pushed into the sand by hand is exactly what ends up tumbling down the beach when the afternoon wind picks up. Ours are anchored for that wind and stay standing, which is why the set never leaves the beach and is never delivered.

The price gap is real, and so is the difference: a delivery service sells you gear, Aruba Umbrella sells you a set that is already standing, anchored and waiting when you walk onto the sand. For two people, that is $50 each a day, or $60 each with tax and fees. Spend the difference on peace of mind. You are on vacation.

Aruba umbrella rental: frequently asked questions

What comes with an Aruba umbrella booking?

Above all, one wide beach umbrella and two beach chairs, already standing at the location you choose — Eagle Beach or Palm Beach — from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM.

What does it cost per day?

$100 plus 20% tax and fees, so $120.00 a day. If your first day is 24 hours out or more, you pay online and the set is confirmed on the spot. Inside 24 hours we check the set against walk-in demand first, then email your secure payment link.

Finding and using your set

Where do I find my umbrella?

Shortly after you book we email you a Meeting point button with the Google Maps pin for the beach you picked, Eagle Beach or Palm Beach. That email also shows the logo on the hut to look for, so you walk to the right one. Give your name at the hut and your set is already standing.

Can I book several days in a row?

Yes. Choose a start and end date on the calendar. In addition, every day is $100 plus tax, and you keep the same spot at the same location for the whole stay.

How far ahead should I book an Aruba umbrella?

In high season, December through April, aim for about a week ahead. Even so, later dates often open up. Outside those months a couple of days is usually enough. Either way, 24 hours ahead is the point where you can pay online and lock the set in immediately.

Do you deliver umbrellas to hotels?

No. The sets stay on the beach at Eagle Beach and Palm Beach, which is why there is no delivery fee. You walk up and your umbrella is already standing.

Can I leave the beach and come back?

Yes. Your set is yours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Therefore you can swim, walk the beach or go out for lunch, then come back to it. Meanwhile the umbrella and both chairs stay in your name all day, so nobody else takes them while you are gone.

Booking, weather and refunds

What happens if the weather turns?

Our canopies are anchored for the Aruba trade winds, so most days are fine. However, in the rare case the beach is unusable, we move your booking to another day or refund you.

Can I move the umbrella to a different beach?

No. Instead, your set stays at the location you booked. It is designated for on-site use only, so it cannot be taken elsewhere.

Can I just turn up on the day?

Both locations take walk-in guests when sets are free, but with only 16 sets per location they go quickly. Booking online is the only way to be certain, and the calendar above shows live availability including walk-ins.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

All sales are final and we do not give refunds, because your set comes off the beach for that date the moment you pay. However, weather is the one exception. If the beach becomes unusable and we cannot set you up, we move your booking to another day or refund you. The full booking and cancellation policy has the details.

Is the setup good for families?

All ages are welcome. Two adults fit on the chairs, with plenty of shade left over for children.

Why not just rent an umbrella and have it delivered?

You can, and if the daily price is what matters most it is a fair option. The difference is what happens next. A delivery rental hands you the gear, and you carry it, find a spot, plant it and take it all down yourself. In Aruba that comes with a real catch: the trade wind is strong and blows most afternoons, and an umbrella pushed into the sand by hand can lift out and fly down the beach, which is dangerous for you and for the people around you. With Aruba Umbrella the set is already standing at the spot when you arrive, anchored and built for that wind, and it stays yours until 4:00 PM. You may also know us as Aruba Beach Umbrella, our sister site for the same sets on the same two beaches, and every booking checks out securely on palapaaruba.com.

Is Aruba Umbrella more expensive than a delivery rental?

Per day, usually yes. Aruba Umbrella is $100 plus 20% tax and fees, so $120.00 a day, and that covers the umbrella, two reclining chairs, the reserved spot, the setup and the takedown, with no delivery charge. Split between two people that is $50 each for the day, or $60 each with tax and fees. A delivery rental is gear only at a lower daily rate, with the carrying and setting up left to you.

Do you deliver the umbrella to my hotel?

No. Nothing is delivered and there is nothing to set up. The umbrella and two chairs are already standing at the spot, at Eagle Beach or Palm Beach, under your name from 10:00 AM, and they stay yours until 4:00 PM. That is also why there is no delivery fee: the set never leaves the sand.

Why rent an Aruba umbrella instead of chasing a palapa?

Aruba has far more sun than shade. Because the free palapas on Eagle Beach are claimed by 5 AM, latecomers get nothing. In addition, most hotels only guarantee shade to guests in their own row. So a rented Aruba umbrella solves the problem every visitor runs into: somewhere cool to sit at 1 PM.

Our package is simple. First, you get one wide beach umbrella. Second, you get two reclining chairs, anchored and waiting under your name. As a result, you skip the 6 AM towel race entirely. Instead, you arrive whenever you want.

What an Aruba umbrella rental costs

One set costs $100 per day plus 20% tax and fees. That price covers the umbrella, both chairs and the setup. Above all, there is no delivery fee, because the sets already stand at the beach.

Multi-day stays work the same way. First, pick your arrival day on the calendar. Then pick your last day, and the total updates as you go. In fact, most guests book three to five days.

Where your umbrella in Aruba is waiting

We run two locations. The first is Eagle Beach, the wide low-rise stretch that regularly lands on world-best-beach lists. The second sits in front of Palm Beach, so guests in the high-rise hotels can walk over.

Each location holds sixteen sets per day. Because that number is small, high-season weekends fill first. Therefore, book early if your dates are fixed.

How to book an Aruba umbrella

Booking takes about a minute. First, choose your beach. Then pick your dates on the live calendar, and add your name and email. After that, you either pay right away or send a request.

The cutoff is 24 hours. If your first day starts 24 hours or more from now, you pay online and the set is confirmed instantly. However, for a booking that starts within the next 24 hours, we check the set against walk-in demand first. Then we email your secure payment link, usually within the hour.

What to bring, and what we handle

We handle the shade. Meanwhile, you bring sunscreen, water and a towel. Since the chairs recline, a book and a hat finish the kit.

The umbrellas are anchored for the Aruba trade winds, which pick up most afternoons. Still, if the wind turns genuinely unsafe, our crew closes the canopies. In that case we sort out your booking directly.

Aruba umbrella rental hours

Sets are yours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. In short, that window covers the strongest sun of the day. Finally, there is nothing to pack up, so you can leave the set where it stands.
